Even with the CHL deathwatch rumors along with some teams bolting for the “E” or NAHL.The Central Hockey League… The Big East of Hockey You guys are forgetting that Brampton also lost the Junior A. Capitals (technically they were merged into the Bramalea Blues). In the same year, the Bramalea Blues (who by the way, played on the same ice pad as my rec league team. There’s a little viewing area that I would guess seats 30 people, that’s it.) also ceased operations.I’ve lived in Brampton almost all my life (minus 2 years). The numbers of kids playing house league hockey is pretty good and it’s not easy to find ice time to rent in the city, but it seems to stop there. I went to a Battalion game earlier this season and the announced attendance was 2 thousand, I’d be surprised if there was 1 thousand there. (the pic below gives you an idea) I don’t know if it’s the large amount of people that live in Brampton who prefer sports like cricket or if it’s the over saturation of hockey in the GTA market. Probably both. Either way, hockey just doesn’t seem to work in Brampton. I’ll go check out a game or two for this CeHL team for interest sake, but that’s it. It makes sense if the league is looking to add a stable team in a decent hockey market with a fanbase. Whether or not the team will be run like an actual minor league team remains to be seen.Wrong forum though as this has nothing to do with logos… yet. sportstar1212 0 chakfu 1,555 Location:Richmond, VA Prev Sodboy13 Share on other sites Favourite Logos:Johnny Canuck, Hartford Whalers, Lady Liberty, Stinger, Pre-Edge London Knights, Philadelphia Eagles, Florida Gators Posted January 24, 2013 0 19,560 posts Members Members Formally mr.negative15 Favourite Logos:Portland Buckaroos 1960/61 – 1973/74 Link to post 1,547 posts
 Frylock No, I am NOT making this up.There are not enough memes in all the world to describe the SHENANIGANS, TOMFOOLERY, and BALDERDASH of this…the CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE…in BRAMPTON, ONTARIO?! The Battalion get 1,000 fans (or so they claim) at their games and the Bombers get a couple of hundred. He will be in for quite a surprise sooner than later. That’s my chief problem. If it was a good hockey market despite being somewhat outside the CHL’s footprint, I’d be OK with it. But the fact that the Battalion have a hard time drawing flies (mainly because of the oversaturated GTA market-the move to North Bay will be good for them) and the Bombers do even moreso…plus the fact that Canada cares more about junior hockey than pro minor league hockey…They’ll be lucky to last one season.
