Other details POSITIONSUMMARY:The Dean of Academic Affairs andOperations is responsible for the overall development, maintenance,and management of academic operations, student support services andfacility utilization at the assigned campus. This position isresponsible for creating and sustaining an environment of academicand professional excellence for students and faculty and acollaborative working environment with educational teammembers. REPORTINGRESPONSIBILITIES:Meet data needs and reportingresponsibilities with the Director ofInstitutionalResearch.Manage, prepare, and submit theIntegrated Post-secondary Education (IPEDS) Surveyreports.Coordinate reporting of SSCR datato the National Student LoanClearinghouse.Collect and publish Census reportsfor Academic Session starts and fiscalquarters.Coordinate administration ofFaculty and Student Surveys.Provide CampusVue training forappropriate staff at the campuses and centraloffice.Provide ad hoc reports to campus,central office, and executive staff asrequested. REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 10 years of academic operationsleadership experience in a university setting (registrar and/oradmissions experience a plus).Terminal degree from a regionallyaccredited institution in either higher educationleadership or an area related to theUniversity’s curriculum.Significantteaching experience in a university.Other requirements specific to thediscipline.Experience with computerizedadministrative systems. Effectively and efficientlyimplement approved course schedule.Manage the scheduling process,maximizing efficiencies while maintaining educationaloutcomes.Develop/recommend/implementassigned elements of the South UniversityStrategic Plan.Supervise and provide training,guidance, and support to the campusRegistrar.Coordinate with the Senior Directorof Admissions to set and maintain Admission standards and theprocess for assuring compliance.In coordination with the ViceChancellor- Academic Affairs, oversee academic and student servicespolicy and procedure, including institutional policies, students’rights and responsibilities, and academic policies andprocedures.As approved by the Board ofTrustees, implement and monitor admission policies includingadmissions requirements and transferpolicies.Oversee the dissemination ofAcademic Calendar, Academic Catalogs,StudentHandbooks and Campus RegistrationBulletins.Oversee, develop and leadpersistence initiatives including the StudentSuccess Committee and the ContinuingStudent Review Committee.Interface with the Dean – StudentAffairs and the Director – Career Services and network with localindustry leaders to assess the competitiveness of ourgraduates.Comply with South Universitypolicies and State Regulations.Serve as the lead person on thecampus for CampusVue and provide management of the ongoing system.Ensure all participants at the campus level are trained andcertified in areas of expertise.Actively participate inInstitutional Effectiveness Planning.Assist the campus president in thepreparation and implementation of thebudget.In partnership with the CampusPresident, coordinate general compliance of the campus’seducational practices with national, state and regionalregulations, ensure the appropriate accrediting criteria andrequirements are maintained,Serve as a member of the campusExecutive Committee.
